Some fans believe that Finn Balor has been buried. He hasn’t received a rematch for the WWE Universal Championship in two years now. As a babyface, that makes Balor look a bit weak. WWE officials have also failed to push him into a strong position on Raw, and he hasn’t even been featured as “The Demon” on WWE programming for almost a year.

The logic is to preserve the “unbeatable aura” of the persona for his long-term booking, but the problem is Finn Balor’s short-term booking has suffered by taking “The Demon” away. However, it seems the persona is coming back for the match between ‘Constable’ Baron Corbin and Finn Balor in Brooklyn at Summerslam, according to DirtySheets.
The report claims that Balor’s history in the Barclays Center is a huge factor for bringing back “The Demon.” His history also makes the claim that Finn is a lock for a victory over Baron Corbin because WWE officials are unlikely to have Corbin go over Balor as “The Demon.” WWE officials may be trying to add some additional excitement to the match.
The WWE Universe will be pleased to see Finn Balor return with the body paint, but the fact is a win over The Lone Wolf isn’t exactly where the fans would like him to be on the card. With the WWE Universal Championship rumored to come back to Raw after this weekend, that could open up some possibilities for more talent to have bigger matches.
As of this writing, Balor seems more likely to enter the IC Title hunt than the Universal Title. It’s unclear what’s coming for him after the biggest party of the summer, but the WWE Universe will be happy to see “The Demon” return for just one night in Brooklyn.
