After The Lunatic Fringe went down with a tricep injury in December, the timetable for his return was nine months. He missed WrestleMania, but the WWE Universe is hopeful Dean Ambrose will make his WWE return for Summerslam. Depending on his recovery, it’s more likely for him to return to Raw the night after the biggest party of the summer.
Before his injury, the rumor was he would be turning heel before WrestleMania and his rivalry with Seth Rollins would rekindle. That obviously did not happen and Rollins has become the Intercontinental Champion. Meanwhile, the WWE Universe still isn’t sure when Ambrose will return to WWE, but we have a better idea of what he will be doing.

According to a new report from RingSideNews, most people are still expecting Ambrose to turn heel after his return to television. Brad Shepard believes The Lunatic Fringe will come back red-hot like Rollins did after missing seven months back in 2015. A lot of his push will depend on the booking at Summerslam, but it seems he’ll be staying on Raw.
If the rumors are true and Roman Reigns finally beats Brock Lesnar at Summerslam for the WWE Universal Championship, Shepard speculates that Ambrose could jump right into the title picture. The expectation is Dean Ambrose will turn heel and feud with Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns depending on which one of them needs a new program.
2016 Money in the Bank has gone down as one of the most exciting nights in history:
WWE officials could book another brief reunion of The Shield before Ambrose turns on Reigns and Rollins. Whatever they choose to do, the WWE Universe has been waiting a long time to see The Lunatic Fringe as a heel character. It seems everyone believes Dean Ambrose’s upcoming return to WWE is the perfect time to pull the trigger on the idea.
