After Cody Rhodes had been released by WWE last weekend, he revealed a “wishlist” that had several wrestlers on it that he is looking to wrestle after his ninety day no compete clause expires with WWE.
One of the names on that list was Kurt Angle, who is also a free agent and has been taking matches here and there since his deal with TNA expired. It looks like we’ll be seeing these two in a square circle very soon.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, Cody Rhodes will be making his return to the ring on August 27th against Kurt Angle.
The event will be Northeast Wrestling’s “Under The Stars” that will take place at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, New York.
This will be the first time that Angle and Rhodes have wrestled each other. Just over a week after his non-compete expires, Rhodes will be able to cross off a big name on his wish list.

Angle vs. Rhodes is a very cool match-up that will sell a lot of tickets, especially if this is Cody’s first match outside of WWE in over a decade. It’s also going to be a great match that will set the tone for Cody outside of WWE.
