Braun Strowman defeated seven other men to become Mr. Money in the Bank. It wasn’t a big surprise because he was the favorite, but the WWE Universe was hopeful that the briefcase would go to someone like Finn Balor, The Miz, or even Kevin Owens. Despite a few people being unhappy, there’s a specific reason why Strowman won the briefcase.
For months now, the WWE Universe has been complaining about Roman Reigns getting several title matches against Brock Lesnar. According to a report from DirtySheets, that is why Braun Strowman won the Money in the Bank contract. The plan is for Strowman to cash-in the briefcase to make a Triple Threat Match at Summerslam in two months.

The main event for Summerslam is expected to be Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. It’s unclear if Braun is going to cash-in as a surprise at the show or announce it beforehand. Most babyfaces do tend to announce their cash-in before the even, and this likely will not be any different.
For an event as important as Summerslam, the company should announce Strowman’s involvement in the Universal Title Match to promote the show. With Lesnar’s upcoming departure from the company, he’s expected to put over Braun or Roman on his way out.
There’s no question Kevin Owens falling from the ladder was the spot of the night:
At the moment, it’s unclear what WWE officials have planned for the end of the match, but it’s pretty clear what the fans want. All signs are pointing to Roman Reigns walking out of Brooklyn with the Universal Title, but the next two months are going to be pivotal to change their minds about Braun Strowman becoming the WWE Universal Champion.
