Baron Corbin Wins Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

On Friday night at NXT Takeover: Dallas, Baron Corbin had a very good match with Austin Aries. He came off looking very strong despite wrestling in a losing effort.

After tonight’s Wrestlemania, he won’t have to be worried about his momentum or losing on Friday night to Aries because he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in one of the biggest surprises of the night.

It was very good exposure for him to be in the match at all, but winning is just over the top for him. He’s been improving a great deal in NXT because he’s been working with only great talent over the past year.

Now, so many new faces saw him last night and are thinking to themselves, “Who is this Baron Corbin kid?” The best part of his surprising win last night is WWE has quite a few options for him going forward.

If Corbin were to stay in NXT, he’s in a perfect position and the momentum basically guarantees him a title shot against Finn Balor and a potential win.

However, Baron Corbin just won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and this win could easily transition him to a full-time role on the main roster and a potential push into the midcard title hunt against Kalisto or Zack Ryder.

It’s going to be very interesting to see where WWE builds him next. What a hell of a debut for Baron Corbin.
