On Sunday evening, the third annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will take place on the grandest stage of them all.
However, WWE has made some recent changes to the match and unlike last year, it won’t be on the pre-show. Instead, it will be on the main card of Wrestlemania.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the match has been moved to the main card, but it’s not confirmed why they chose to make the change.
WWE has also announced that the match between Kalisto and Ryback for the United States Championship is going to be a WWE Network and social media exclusive that will air around 5:30 PM EST.
WWE is making an interesting change to the Wrestlemania card that isn’t going to make a lot of people happy. Granted, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal deserves to be on the main show of Wrestlemania, but this change isn’t helping the US title match or Kalisto’s reign.
Yes, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal should be much more meaningful and create big Wrestlemania moments for a new star, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of a midcard championship that was at an apex not even six months ago.
