1. Pro Wrestling is Being Legitimized

Cena Rock presser

If nothing else, this is WWE and pro wrestling being acknowledged by the sports world fully. WWE has always been in it’s own bubble, but now, it’s being featured on ESPN on a regular basis. This just may be the first step for WWE’s legitimacy in the sports world.

A lot of sports fans will fast forward through, but others will like what they see. They’ll buy the WWE Network and recognize the talent on WWE’s product. WWE superstars have a genuine chance of becoming true established athletes and now they have the biggest American platform for sports to make their case.

That’s all anyone else can do, it’s up to them to determine is this is the first step of making WWE not just a weekly segment, but a legitimate sport people respect. WWE’s future is unclear at ESPN, but it looks bright.
