4. Exposure for the WWE Network and PPVs
The WWE Network is growing, but it’s also very young. It’s a new concept and ESPN selling the WWE product every week is only going to bring better ratings, better PPV numbers and more subscribers to WWE. Suddenly, WWE is commanding respect from all sports fans.
If the WWE Network is getting more subscribers and viewers than NXT grows and PPV rates are going to be higher. It’s possible that Raw’s ratings also may increase. This is great for WWE’s product because now it has the opportunity to market itself on a much greater scale.
3. WWE Product Should Get Stronger
A lot of wrestling fans have taken the stance of, “I don’t care about WWE on ESPN”. That’s fine, but then some of those fans want to complain about how poor Raw is every week and now there is a bigger platform for all sports fans to see how poor WWE’s product is.
However, if WWE is suddenly under greater pressure to bring it’s A game, the WWE product is very likely to improve and be far more compelling television. ESPN is finally watching and acknowledging the wrestling industry. You know Vince McMahon and his ambition to compete. He does his best work when his back is against the wall. This is the time for his best to come out and he knows it.
