Both John Cena and WWE have officially announced the fifteen time WWE World Champion’s return to WWE programming on Monday Night Raw tomorrow night. Cena will take on Alberto Del Rio on Raw, but it isn’t announced as of this writing if the United States Championship will be on the line.

However, Cena has been busy with his obligations to Hollywood and “American Grit”. It was necessary for Cena to shake off some of the ring rust. That’s what happened last night as John Cena made his return to the ring during a WWE live event at Madison Square Garden.

The following video was posted by WWE last night:

Cena’s return at the world’s most famous arena was a match against Del Rio in an extended preview for this week’s Raw. The match ended in a disqualification win for John Cena after Rusev interfered.

Obviously, WWE isn’t going to give away the US title to Cena only a few days before his official return to WWE programming, but it’s very likely we could see Cena take back the championship on Monday, or even at the “Royal Rumble”. It ultimately all depends on what WWE has planned for Cena going into Wrestlemania 32.
