Everyone loves tournaments! The WWE is in a major expansion mode at the moment and that means a lot of areas around the world getting attention that they wouldn’t get otherwise. This includes the WWE UK Title tournament and if that one is a success, it could mean several more in the future.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE could be planning more tournaments in regions of the world. At the moment, there is no idea about whether or not these areas would get their own shows or promotions. It’s also not clear who might work with WWE on the projects. Here’s the statement from the Newsletter:

“There are long-term plans to follow this concept and do similar tournaments to create as Asian champion and a Latin American champion.”

As cool as it is to have this international exposure, I’m not sure if they need to do all this at once. However, if they do, the key thing to remember is to have them be tournaments from these areas, not WWE tournaments that happen to take place there. Look at the UK tournament. It feels like a tournament that could be held by another British promotion but it’s from WWE instead. That’s VERY important and helps so much.
