And so it’s confirmed. Last week, news broke that Wrestlemania 34 would be returning to New Orleans, a mere four years after Wrestlemania 30 took over the Big Easy. Until now it hadn’t been officially confirmed but the possibilities looked strong. As of today though, WWE has officially made the announcement.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picuyane, Wrestlemania 30 will take place at the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome on April 8, 2018. There will be a press event held on January 10, 2017 to make the official announcement with various WWE personalities on hand to confirm everything. More details will be made available in the coming weeks and months.

I was lucky enough to be in the stadium for Wrestlemania 30 and it’s one of the greatest nights of my wrestling life. New Orleans is very easy to get around and it made for an incredible experience. It’s easy to see why WWE would want to go back there and do the biggest show of the year again, even this soon. With NXT likely holding another Takeover special from the Smoothie King Center, which is next door to the SuperDome, this should be another great Wrestlemania setup.
