It can happen. Injuries are some of the worst things that can happen in wrestling, both to the wrestlers as well as the promotion. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and that can put them on the shelf for a very long time. That can also alter the stories that the company is trying to tell and that appears to have taken place again this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Why Did Pat McAfee Miss Raw In His Hometown This Week? (It’s Not Story-Related)
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser. Following the match, it was reported that Kaiser was evaluated for an injury. According to WrestleVotes, prior to the injury, Kaiser was set to take part in a Money In The Bank qualifying match next week on Monday Night Raw, also involving Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. However, Kaiser is now being replaced by Ilja Dragunov. It is not clear when Kaiser will be able to return to the ring.
Prior to the injury, Ludwig Kaiser was to compete in the MITB qualifier next week vs Sheamus & Drew McIntyre. As shown on RAW, Ilja Dragunov will now be in that spot.

Opinion: That isn’t a great sign for Kaiser but there is always the chance that this is WWE being better safe than sorry. What matters the most is Kaiser being healthy and being able to get back in the ring sooner than later. Kaiser has been doing the best singles work of his career and it would be a shame to see him put on the shelf for any reason, no matter what that might be.
