Maybe? Retirement is a difficult concept for wrestlers as there is always the option to keep going. Unlike mainstream sports, a wrestler can come back and wrestle again for one match instead of competing for a full season. At the same time, wrestlers can remain in the ring far later into life, which can make for some long careers. It seems that a legendary wrestler has been considering hanging it up.

According to WrestleVotes by way of GiveMeSport, Rey Mysterio had considered retiring at WrestleMania 39, even to the point of discussing it with Triple H. However, he seems to have changed his mind, as there is nothing to suggest that he will be retiring at the show. Mysterio’s retirement has not been mentioned on WWE television. So far, Mysterio, 48, does not have a WrestleMania match, though a match against his son Dominik has been teased. Rey is expected to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame the night before WrestleMania Night One.
Rey has had an amazing career. Check out some of his better moments:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to have to happen at some point, as Rey is certainly closer to the end of his career than the beginning. He has been a Hall of Famer for years and there is nothing left for him to accomplish in wrestling. There is something special about seeing him get to work with his son though and that might be enough to get him to stick around for a good while longer.
