It was nice while it lasted. The announcement of the Raw Women’s Title match main eventing WWE WrestleMania 35 was quite the shock. It’s something that it was hard to imagine you would ever actually see but it’s not actually taking place. The match is the final step at the end of a long road, but it seems that we won’t be getting one of the bigger steps again this year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is no Evolution pay per view listed on the schedule this year and the event might not be taking place. The main reason for the show not taking place again is the lack of Ronda Rousey, who is currently scheduled to leave WWE after the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania. The first event took place in October with Rousey defeating Nikki Bella in the main event. There is still a chance that WWE could add the show to the schedule.
It was actually a heck of a match. Check out the full thing for free:
Opinion: This is kind of a shame as the first event was very well done and something that came out of left field to be a great show. With the women main eventing the biggest show of the year though, it’s hard to imagine anything ever topping it. If the women are presented as equals on the weekly shows and pay per views, why would they need their own pay per view? It wouldn’t be a bad thing at all, but the women’s division has arrived and it’s not going away.
