Not that way. There are all kinds of titles under the WWE umbrella and winning one of them can be the major turning point for a wrestler’s career. It means a lot for someone to pick up their first championship on a major WWE show but at some point the title has to be dropped to someone else. That is the case again, and unfortunately it is not happening the way it was intended.

Earlier this week, WWE announced that Liv Morgan was injured and unable to defend her WWE Women’s Tag Team Title. This week on SmackDown, it was announced that due to the injury, Morgan and her partner Raquel Rodriguez would be forced to vacate the titles. A four way match for the vacant titles will be held on the May 29 Monday Night Raw between Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler, Bayley/Iyo Sky, Chelsea Green/Sonya Deville and Rodriguez/a partner of her choosing. There is no word on when Morgan will return to the ring.

Opinion: This is one of those situations that you never want to see but unfortunately it has happened again. Hopefully Morgan is back in the ring sooner than later, as someone being injured is bad in any way. There are a few interesting options to win the titles and I’m curious to see which direction WWE takes. If nothing else, Rodriguez could have a variety of partners and that should open things up well.
