WATCH: WWE Hall Of Famer Involved In Angle On NXT

It’s a family thing. There have been all kinds of families in wrestling and some of them are known by a single name. It can be a lot of fun to look back at them and see what worked, but it also means a lot when you look to the future. That can be through the next generation of wrestlers that is coming up, but week the two generations are coming together in a way that might surprise you.

This week’s NXT featured a main event of NXT Champion Bron Breakker successfully defending his title over Gunther. Following the match, Joe Gacy and Harland appeared on screen, revealing that they had kidnapped Breakker’s father, new WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner. There is no word on where this is going or when a possible match between Breakker and Gacy could take place.

That makes things more serious. Check out what happened with Breakker, Gacy and Steiner:

Opinion: There is something strange about seeing Gunther defeated and Gacy rising up as the next top villain. It feels like those roles should be reversed with Gunther and Imperium as the long term threats, but at least Breakker is getting to mix it up a bit going forward. You have to see what you have at some point and that means putting Breakker in the ring more often.
