Put it on the card. We are eight days away from WrestleMania 40 and that means that most of the card is almost entirely set. The card featured ten matches coming into this week’s SmackDown spread over two nights, meaning there is still time to have it added in. That was covered this week as a fairly large tag match was added to the show after SmackDown was over.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: New Schedule: WWE Forced To Make Changes To Monday Night Raw After Segment Goes Long
The closing segment of this week’s SmackDown saw Damage CTRL attacking Bianca Belair and Naomi until Jade Cargill made the save to end the show. Following the show, WWE posted a clip to its Twitter account showing SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announcing that Damage CTRL will face Cargill/Belair/Naomi at WrestleMania. This will be Cargill’s second match in WWE, following this year’s women’s Royal Rumble.
It’s a big deal. Check out the announcement plus how we got there:
Opinion: This is a match that seemed likely to be coming in one way or another and that is not a bad thing. WrestleMania is often about getting as many people on the show as possible and that is what they did here with six women being added in one match. It comes off as a way to present Cargill more than anything else and that is not a bad way to go, as she is quite the star already.
