As the family turns. Personal stories have a strong track record in wrestling, as they are the kind of stories that anyone can relate to. Almost everyone has had drama with their family at one point or another and it can be interesting to see how those situations fall out. That is the case at the top of WWE at the moment and there was another big twist in the story this weekend.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: Money In The Bank Cash-In At Summerslam Leads To Surprise WWE Title Change
The main event of Summerslam 2023 saw Jey Uso challenging Roman Reigns for both the WWE Universal Title and the role as Tribal Chief of the Anoa’i family. Late in the match, Uso hit a Superfly Splash on Reigns, but a man in a hood pulled Uso out. The man was Jey’s brother Jimmy, who superkicked Jey to cost him the title. This came after the two reunited in June to attack Reigns and their brother Solo Sikoa. No explanation was given for the turn.
It’s a big change. Check out the turn and what the Usos have been doing lately:
Opinion: This is an interesting way to go, but I’m not sure if it’s the best idea. For once, this felt like a twist for the sake of a twist in the Bloodline story and that’s not a good thing. It felt like the only way to get out of the match for Reigns and it made for a weak ending. The match itself wasn’t the best either, and it did not exactly end the show on the best footing.
