Opinion: While Gangrel is a little vague on some of the details in the story, I could absolutely see something like this taking place. The European Title went all over the place at different times and Gangrel winning the title certainly wouldn’t have been a surprise. Gangrel was someone with some great charisma and this certainly doesn’t feel like it is that far out of reality.
