You need to see it. Every now and then, you see a segment in wrestling that makes your head spin. It might be due to something funny, something out there, or something so bad that it is hard to fathom its mere existence. Every now and then you get something that encompasses all three of those things and we might have had another such situation this week on Monday Night Raw.
Back in the 1980s, the Road Warriors became the most dominant tag team of all time. There had never been a team that ran people over like they did and they became a phenomenon as a result. To this day you will still see teams trying to emulate them, and WWE has a pair that comes close. That would be the Viking Raiders, but they were acting a little differently this week.
Words aren’t going to do this one justice. Check out what happened:
This week on Monday Night Raw, the Viking Raiders took part in a Carpool Karaoke style segment. The team was shown in a car, wearing viking helmets and singing a song about being vikings. During the song, Ivar eats a drumstick and the team both speak in normal voices at the end of the video. There is no word on if this will be a one off segment or a new direction for the team.
In case you need to cleanse your pallet. Check out the team in their more natural habitat:
Opinion: Who looked at this and thought it was a good idea? Who looked at the two monsters who call themselves vikings and had them sing? Better yet, who thought of the line “We worship Thor and we will knock him to the floor?” I’m not sure what to think of something like this, but it’s one of the most mind boggling things that you will ever see for a good while.
What did you think of the segment? Will this be a one off segment or a permanent change? Let us know in the comments below.
