And so it continues. If there’s one thing that WWE loves to do, it’s run a tournament. The company runs several different tournaments every year and while some of them are better than others, there is something for everyone. It might be on the main roster or down at Full Sail University, but you can count on WWE putting them together. Now we know another big one coming up.
In a new video posted to Twitter, a clip is shown of a WWE tryout in Germany. The video shows a female wrestler named Wesna attending the tryout and being offered a spot in the third Mae Young Classic, which will air at some point in the summer. WWE has run two editions of the tournament over the last two years, with Kairi Sane and Toni Storm winning the first two.
It was quite the moment. Check out the announcement, which starts in German but turns into English:
Opinion: That works well enough for me. The previous two Mae Young Classics have been a lot of fun and both of them have given us some fresh talent. It’s cool to see the mixture of names we’ve seen before and new faces, many of which populate the women’s divisions today. With WWE establishing new international NXT brands, some more names could be a good addition.
