Another one off the roster. This year has seen a lot of changes in wrestling as WWE has made a few moves and AEW has become the new hottest ticket in wrestling, despite not actually running a show yet. With all the changes taking place, some of the other promotions have been forgotten, though they’re undergoing changes of their own. One such change is quite sudden and involves a pretty big name.

As announced on their official website, Impact Wrestling has terminated its relationship with Eli Drake. While no reason was given in the original announcement, PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com reports that Drake’s release was over comments he made about a proposed match between Drake and Tessa Blanchard. Regarding his future, Drake spoke with 411wrestling.com, saying that the release is genuine and while he knows his next move, he has signed nothing. Drake also says that he has NOT been in talks with WWE. Drake worked for the company from 2015-2019, winning the World, Tag Team and King of the Mountain Titles once each.

There’s a lot here. Check out Drake’s full interview right here:

Opinion: I’m not sure what’s going to happen with Drake but with his talking abilities, he’s going to be a rather hot commodity. His in-ring work is more than strong enough, but as long as he can talk that well he’ll be able to get a job somewhere. AEW, Ring of Honor and likely WWE, where Drake worked before, will likely be interested and they should be in someone that talented.

Where do you think Drake will wind up? Where should he go? Let us know in the comments below.
