Video: Major Name Returns to “Impact Wrestling” and Wins Title

Welcome back. To say the roster rapidly changes around Impact Wrestling would be an understatement. It’s very rare to not see someone coming or going from the promotion seemingly at the drop of a hat and that’s the case again this week as a big name made his return and came in with quite a big, shall we say, impact.

This week on “Impact Wrestling”, Austin Aries made his return to the company after a multi year absence. Aries debuted at the end of the show, interrupting a promo by World Champion Eli Drake. An impromptu title match took place with Aries winning the title in fifty seconds with the brainbuster. This was Aries’ first match with the promotion since 2015.

Opinion: I like the idea of Aries being back in the company but at the same time I’m not wild on having him show up and then end a five month title reign in less than a minute. There was time to set something up for Aries vs. Drake down the line but instead they rushed straight to it. I’m not a fan on that kind of booking and it happens too often in this promotion.
