Not the best place to try this. The Hall of Fame ceremony is a night like no other in WWE. There’s something so cool about getting to see the wrestlers in a different atmosphere for a change and it only happens one night a year. The wrestlers are there to pay their respects to the greats and the fans get to join them, but in this case it didn’t quite go exactly as planned.
Tonight at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, a fan jumped the barricade and attacked Bret Hart during his induction speech for the Hart Foundation. Natalya, who was next to Hart, was knocked down in the melee. The wrestlers near the ring immediately went after the fan and, along with security, got rid of him. During the melee, a wrestler who appears to be Dash Wilder, punches the fan in the face. Both seemed to be fine and Hart finished his speech. WWE has issued a statement saying that the fan is being dealt with by the authorities. You can see the aftermath of the attack and Wilder’s punch below.
And from another angle:
Opinion: My goodness how dumb do you have to be to do this? I’d have to assume that he was rather drunk or something to think it was a good idea to jump a barricade and attack a 61 year old wrestler when an army of wrestlers, not to mention security, was right there. Hopefully this guy gets the book thrown at him because that was an assault and he deserves to be punished for what he did.
