Video: Goldberg’s Most Vicious Spears

Goldberg day continues. Twenty years ago today, Goldberg made his televised debut when he defeated Hugh Morrus on the September 22, 1997 episode of “Monday Nitro” (which you can watch here). Goldberg won the match with his signature Jackhammer, but there was one big move missing. There was no spear in the match, but WWE has you covered with a highlight reel.

WWE has released a video showcasing some of Goldberg’s most devastating spears. There’s a long list of victims on the video, ranging from jobbers to Hall of Famers to a referee at one point. While a lot of people have used the spear over the years, no one has done it with this kind of impact and Goldberg’s was always worth the look. Here’s the video:

Opinion: There’s something to be said about watching someone plow through another person like they’re not even there. Goldberg did it as well as anyone else ever did and that’s what set him apart. The man could run people over like no one else ever could and that made him a star.
