That’s quite the replacement. Last week, it was announced that Davey Richards was taking the rest of 2017 off to deal with a bad knee. As a result, he’ll be missing this weekend’s “Evolve 92” and “Evolve 93”. A replacement has been announced, and it turns out that it’s someone from the active WWE roster.

According to 411mania.com, Cedric Alexander will be replacing Richards on both shows. Both events will be taking place on the FloSlam Network, though Alexander’s matches will both be for the live crowd only and will not be airing on the pay per views. These are just one shot appearances for Alexander, who is still on the WWE roster.

Here’s what Alexander has been up to lately:

Cedric Alexander vs. The Brian Kendrick: WWE 205 Live, Sept. 19. 2017

Opinion: While it’s unfair to the people who paid for the events via the FloSlam Network, it’s quite the treat for the live crowd to get to see a bigger name like Alexander. I know he hasn’t been the biggest star in the world in WWE but he’s a very talented wrestler who is more than capable of wrestling an entertaining match.

Are you surprised that Alexander got to wrestle on this show? Do you think he’ll ever be Cruiserweight Champion? Let us know in the comments below.
