The injury bug plays no favorites. Last night at “Takeover: WarGames”, Drew McIntyre lost the NXT Title to Andrade Cien Almas in a pretty big upset. McIntyre had only held the title since August and lost it on his first Takeover title defense. However, there seems to be a bigger story than just the title change.
As announced on WWE.com, McIntyre suffered an arm injury during the match which may have been a torn bicep. There is no word on his recovery time but it could be several months. In a video posted by WWE, Triple H said McIntyre will have an MRI on Sunday and, assuming it is a torn bicep, undergo surgery some time this week. Here’s McIntyre talking about the injury.

And Triple H providing an update.
Triple H comments on Drew McIntyre's arm injury at TakeOver: Exclusive, Nov. 18, 2017
Opinion: Well dang. I’m not sure what the downtime is for a torn bicep but you can pretty much guarantee he’s out of the Royal Rumble. What he might be able to be though is the post “Wrestlemania XXXIV” surprise. I don’t think there’s much of an argument to McIntyre needing to go back to NXT, save for anything other than knocking off some ring rust. Just let him be on the main roster where he won’t tower over everyone.
Do you think McIntyre should go to the main roster? Which show should he be on? Let us know in the comments below.
