Graves appeared on a recent episode of Booker T.’s “Heated Conversations podcast, revealing that the entire story was a work and a joke with no truth to it whatsoever. The two spoke about being friends who enjoyed messing with each other but this time it was picked up on and turned into a big joke. Also of note: Graves mentioned that no wrestling journalist ever called either of them to ask what was going on and even fellow wrestlers weren’t sure what was going on.
Here’s the conversation.
Opinion: While this might not have been the biggest story in the world, it’s still cool to see some wrestlers doing an old school feud like this for the sake of just having some fun. It wasn’t going to lead to a match or anything but at least they did something that got people talking. If nothing else, it’s proof that this way of setting things up can work in WWE, even if the company doesn’t seem interested in doing so for whatever reason.
