Somewhere had to be safe. There was only one choice for the story of the week as WWE released or furloughed nearly fifty employees. While several of them were active wrestlers, there were other job descriptions sprinkled throughout. This included people from all areas of the company, though there may be an area that will not be hit by the massive roster cuts other than a few here or there.
To put it mildly, WWE is a massive company. Ignoring everything else that they have going on outside of the wrestling, they also have a staggering six weekly television shows, almost all of which have their own roster of wrestlers. That is a crazy system when you think of it, yet somehow they have managed to make it work. One of those rosters is not likely to be touched in the releases.
According to the Mirror (UK newspaper) Sports, there will be no cuts to the NXT UK roster at this point. They will be receiving full pay because they are self employed, though there are no NXT UK events scheduled at the moment. NXT UK has been running Best Of shows for the last two weeks and will be doing so for the foreseeable future until the restrictions imposed to fight the Coronavirus are lifted.
Just spoke to a source who has confirmed that WWE NXT UK will be making no cuts to its roster at this time. Also the roster are getting paid in full and will not be furloughed as they are all self employed!

They had some good stuff going before they got shut down. Check out some recent NXT UK highlights:
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world as the NXT UK roster has always been a little bit different than the rest. At the end of the day, there isn’t much to release them from as most of them wrestle elsewhere anyway. If WWE isn’t running events, why let them go? Hopefully they are able to get back up and running soon, just like all of the other shows currently on hiatus.
