Things are getting a little clearer. As reported yesterday, the Elimination Chamber will be returning at some point in 2017. Now we have a few more details, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of Wrestlinginc.com. The show will be a “Monday Night Raw” exclusive show, held on February 12. This will be followed by “Fastlane 2017” as a “Smackdown Live” event on March 5.

In addition to this, the current plan is to hold 18 pay per views between the two brands (including double brand shows) in 2017. This is down slightly from 19 but up from a rumored 16. The theory would suggest that the brands will alternate, but unless there’s another “Smackdown Live” show in January, “Monday Night Raw” will have back to back exclusive pay per views with “Roadblock 2016” and “Elimination Chamber 2017”.

Aside from the obvious issue of flooding the pay per view market even more, this is fine all around. “Monday Night Raw” has more talent on its roster and can fill in an Elimination Chamber a bit more easily. It’s not so much an issue of putting people in the match but moreso about having the rest of the card to fill out.

What do you want to see in the Elimination Chamber? Would it be better served as a “Smackdown Live” show? Let us know in the comments below.
