It’s wrapping up. The biggest wrestling story of the last few weeks has been the backstage brawl following the AEW All Out media scrum. CM Punk and Ace Steel got into a huge fight with the Elite, resulting in multiple wrestlers and agents being suspended from the company. That has thrown a wrench into a lot of AEW’s plans, but the wrench might be loosening up a bit.
According to PWInsider.com, AEW producer Pat Buck has returned to work, as his suspension has already ended. Buck is the first name known to be back with the company after the incident and it is not known when the rest will return. Other names such as Christopher Daniels and Kenny Omega are in Japan but not in any AEW capacity. According to Fightful Select, Michael Nakazawa is also in Japan on a trip planned before the brawl.
Opinion: That is awfully fast for Buck, making me think that he didn’t play a major role in the incident. If someone just happened to be there while it happened and didn’t get involved, there is no reason to have them on the sidelines for a long time. It could be a good while before we see everyone else back though and that is going to make things feel a bit strange in AEW for the time being.
