Here we go again. Just under two weeks ago, AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to become the new Smackdown World Champion. There was a good chance that Mahal would get his rematch for the title on the upcoming tour of India, but that seems to have fallen through. We now know for sure when the match will be happening though.
As announced tonight on “Survivor Series 2017”, Mahal will receive his rematch for the title this coming week on “Smackdown Live”. This will mark Styles’ first defense of the title as he faced Universal Champion Brock Lesnar in a non-title match at the pay per view. Mahal hasn’t wrestled on television since losing the title.
Here’s how their first match went down.
Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles - WWE Championship Match: SmackDown LIVE, Nov. 7, 2017
Opinion: Please just let it be out of the way. I’m hoping we’re not setting up Mahal winning the title back here or having a third match at the upcoming “Clash of the Champions” but that seems to be a solid possibility. At the end of the day, it’s not like there’s anyone else that can give Styles a real fight right now, especially with the main focus being on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Shane McMahon.
Who do you think wins the match? If Mahal doesn’t take the title from Styles, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
