You can always use a bonus. As is almost always the case, the end of “Smackdown Live” wasn’t the end of the night. Even with “205 Live” taking place after the show went off the air, there was actually one more match to see and as luck would have it for the fans, the match was actually for a championship.

According to WrestleZone.com, Dean Ambrose defeated the Miz to retain the Intercontinental Title. Miz’s wife Maryse tried to interfere but was ejected for her efforts. Ambrose eventually retained the title via pinfall with Dirty Deeds. Both men had already had a busy night as they had appeared on the Ambrose Asylum and announced their entrances into the Royal Rumble.

This was all it was supposed to be and a good way to send the fans home happy. I mean, one would think a full episode of “Smackdown Live” and a full episode of “205 Live” would be enough to fulfill the wrestling quota for the evening but at least the match was a big deal and the fans got a nice moment as a result. I could see these two having a title match at the pay per view or a big episode of “Smackdown Live” but I’d like to see the story continue either way.

Who do you see taking the title off of Ambrose? Do you think Miz has a chance at breaking Chris Jericho’s record for the most Intercontinental Title reigns? Let us know in the comments below.
