Cut if off. Money In The Bank was certainly an eventful show with a lot of things going on in a single night. There were surprises, returns, title changes and big moments, with a lot of headlines to look forward to. Some of these moments stood out more than others, but there was at least one thing that was rather confusing at the time. Now though, we might have an explanation.
According to PWInsider.com, the United States Title match between Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio was cut short when Samoa Joe was busted open and seemed to have suffered a broken nose. Mysterio would go on to win the match and the title in just over a minute and a half. The post match beatdown with Samoa Joe attacking Mysterio went off as previously planned and was not changed.
There isn’t much to show. Check out Mysterio’s path to winning the title:
Opinion: Given how messed up Samoa Joe’s face was, it’s understandable that the match had to be cut short. I don’t think it was so much an issue of Samoa Joe being as injured as he was but more how bad things were going to get if the match continued. Mysterio being attacked after winning the title continues the feud, though having two matches that don’t even add up to three minutes is kind of a stretch.
What did you think of the match? How long will Mysterio hold the title? Let us know in the comments below.
