That would be big for Punk. There are all kinds of events on the WWE calendar every year but some of them are treated as far more important. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is considering CM Punk as Gunther’s challenger for the World Heavyweight Title at Survivor Series. Punk called Gunther out this week on Monday Night Raw but was attacked by Drew McIntyre, resulting in Punk being taken out on a stretcher. Later in the show, Gunther was challenged by Sami Zayn, with Gunther declining the challenge. Survivor Series is set to take place on November 30 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Opinion: That is the kind of match that could make for quite the showdown at a major event. Punk is not likely going to be around WWE for many big matches so getting him in these spots when possible is a great idea. We might need to see something else with McIntyre first, but Punk vs. Gunther on the big stage could be quite the spectacle, which is what WWE wants.
