That wasn’t the plan. There is rarely a bigger match in the wrestling year than the main event of WrestleMania. The match often features a major title match between some of the top stars in WWE. The way the match finishes can be one of the most important moments of the year and now we know how one such ending was changed due to the tastes of a wrestler’s mother.

The main event of WrestleMania 35 saw Becky Lynch defeat Charlotte and Ronda Rousey to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Lynch won the match by pinning Rousey, though according to Lynch in her new book “The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl” by way of SportsKeeda.com, that was not the original finish. Rousey reportedly refused to tap out to Lynch as she believed her mother would never talk to her again if she tapped out. Rousey would leave WWE for the first time following the match.

Opinion: That’s a bit of a hard thought to accept, as it isn’t some random match on Monday Night Raw or at a live event. Changing the ending, or at least how the ending came about, to the main event of WrestleMania is quite the stretch no matter who is involved. Thankfully it didn’t take away that much from the match, but that is quite the shakeup for a fairly ridiculous reason.
