They’re around. WWE has dominated the wrestling world for the better part of twenty years, with the company having thwarted all of its competition with no one giving them any serious competition. Things are changing at the moment though, but it is coming from above WWE for a change, as the company now has new owners. WWE needs to have a comment on this and they made one on national television.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: What Happened After Monday Night Raw Went Off The Air
This week, Endeavor announced that it had purchased a majority stake in WWE, making them the new majority owners once the deal goes through. WWE COO Triple H opened this week’s Monday Night Raw and addressed the situation, promising that the company is going to be around in the same way the fans have always known it. Triple H said the company is “not going anywhere” and promised the same presentation, sold out arenas, week in and week out. Thus far, there is nothing to suggest that Endeavor will be making any major changes to WWE.
It was quite the speech. Check out the statement, plus some other great WWE speeches:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE had to do when something this big was going on. WWE being owned by someone else is one of those things that is almost hard to fathom but that is where we are going in the near future. The best thing that could happen is WWE being mainly left alone, but now we get to find out what is going to happen and that could go in a bunch of directions.
