They’re certainly not starting slow. This Sunday is the annual Survivor Series, an event with over thirty years of history behind it. It’s one of the biggest shows of the year and that means a lot of attention needs to be paid to the whole thing. WWE has been a little rushed with the build this year and that means they need the event to go very well. That includes a strong start, and that’s what they might have in store.

This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced that the tag team Survivor Series match will serve as the Kickoff Show. The lineups for the match haven’t been set yet, though we know the entire Monday Night Raw side and the SmackDown Live captains. At the moment, the Monday Night Raw side consists of captains Bobby Roode/Chad Gable, Ascension, the B-Team, Revival and Lucha House Party. On the other side, the only SmackDown Live team announced so far are the Usos, who will serve as team captains. There is always the chance of another match being added to the Kickoff Show.

The red captains are feeling chatty in this interview from behind the scenes.

Opinion: While the entrances alone are going to take a long time, I can get behind the idea of having a match like this on the Kickoff Show to give it some extra time. If you put this on the main card, it’s going to be crunched for time by the rest of the matches. At the moment, it’s the only Kickoff Show match (though I can’t imagine that continues to be the case) and that means it should be allowed to breathe a bit.

Do you like this as the Kickoff Show match? Will another match be added? Let us know in the comments below.
