That would be big. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for three years plus now, holding the Universal Title since August 2020. This is the longest World Title reign in over thirty five years in WWE and it begs the question of who could be the one to stop him. Reigns is running out of opponents, but there is a name being speculated about which could lead to a major showdown.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Had A Very Interesting Idea For Matt Riddle And Drew McIntyre
During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that John Cena could be next in line to face Reigns at Crown Jewel on November 4. Cena will be teaming with LA Knight to face the Bloodline at Fastlane this Saturday and will be in Carmelo Hayes’ corner to cancel out Paul Heyman next week on NXT when Carmelo Hayes faces Bron Breakker. It should be noted that this is PURELY speculation and not a report. Cena unsuccessfully challenged Reigns at Summerslam 2021 and has not wrestled at a Saudi Arabia event since 2018.
They have a history. Check out Cena vs. Reigns:
Opinion: This might be a stretch, as Cena has not been at a Saudi Arabia show in years and might not want to break that streak. At the same time, Reigns is going to be in action at the show and there are not many other names out there. LA Knight seems to be an option, but that might be something that WWE would want to save for one of its regular events.
