She’s in too. There are all kinds of things to cover over WrestleMania Weekend and WrestleMania itself is only the centerpiece. In addition to the show itself, there are all kinds of other things that take place, some of which are more of a celebration that anything else. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: All Set: WWE Officially Confirms WrestleMania 40 Lineups
The Rock has announced that his grandmother, Lia Maivia, is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame as part of the Class of 2024. In addition, the Rock will be giving her induction speech. Maivia was one of the first female promoters in the wrestling world, promoting Polynesian Pro Wrestling starting in 1982. The rest of the class includes Paul Heyman, the US Express, Bull Nakano Thunderbolt Patterson and Muhammad Ali with the induction taking place this Friday after SmackDown.
It was a great tribute. Check out the announcement plus some other members of the family:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could make for a very nice moment as the Rock has long since spoken highly of his grandmother. At the same time, Maivia is certainly someone who deserves the recognition, as you do not see many female promoters in wrestling. It’s a nice addition to the class and hopefully the speech is as good as it could be, as Rock should be able to bring it hard.
