That is some high praise. There are all kinds of wrestlers in WWE history but some of them are a lot more famous than others. In some cases that is because you do not see anyone capable of doing what they do in the ring. It would make sense to want to have those people pass on what they know and that is what we are seeing in WWE today. It turns out that something might be coming from it too.
WWE Hall of Famer and NXT coach Shawn Michaels was interviewed by Sports Illustrated and was asked about some of his students. Michaels praised Dakota Kai, including focusing on her performance in WarGames from last year. He spoke about Kai’s selling during the match, which Michaels said reminded him of his own style. As a result, he was impressed, as that is the role he would see himself in.
Michaels is both a coach in NXT and a producer in NXT UK. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 and last wrestled at Crown Jewel 2018. Kai is from New Zealand and currently teaming with Raquel Gonzalez, with the team being the first NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. She has been signed with WWE in December 2016 following a career in both the Australian and American independents.
There is certainly something here. Check out both of them in the ring, plus Michaels in NXT:
Opinion: There is something special about having someone as important to WWE history as Michaels saying these things. He is one of the best in-ring performers of all time and praise from someone like him is going to mean something. It helps that Kai is one of the more promising stars in NXT today and she could be one of the top names in the women’s division in a hurry.
What do you think of Michaels? Who is the most promising star in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
