Rumor: WWE Has A Huge Idea For WrestleMania 35 Main Event

That would be WrestleMania worthy. To say Roman Reigns’ time on top of the WWE has been up and down would be an understatement. He certainly has fans and certainly isn’t a complete disaster in the role, but it’s very rare to not hear him being loudly booed. The question is what WWE can do to make him look like the biggest star in the company, and they seem to have another idea.

According to Joe Peisich on the Barn Burner podcast, WWE is making an attempt to set up the Rock vs. Reigns for WrestleMania 35 next April in the New York City area. The build to the match would include a bunch of appearances from Rock in the weeks leading up. There is no word on how the match would be set up, though Rock is currently favored to win the upcoming 2019 Royal Rumble.

Rock has been there before.

Opinion: I’ll believe it when I see it, but there’s the chance that the match actually takes place. It’s clear that Rock is willing to do something to help Reigns get over, but after the reaction to his appearance with Reigns at the 2015 Royal Rumble, I’m not sure if he’d be willing to do this in front of such a smarky New York crowd. The fans aren’t likely to buy Rock going out there and putting Reigns over again and there’s a good chance they’ll react accordingly.
