That could be huge. WWE has been talking about bringing in a variety of independent promotions to appear on the WWE Network. This was the case a few months ago when stars from Progress Wrestling appeared in the WWE United Kingdom Title tournament. This was followed by rumors of ICW appearing on the Network. The difference though was that WWE would only be airing shows that they didn’t own. Now there’s a potentially major story and it would be a rather different version.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, WWE has been negotiating with Sinclair Broadcast Group to buy Ring of Honor, which would then air its regular TV show on the WWE Network. The deal has been under discussion since January and is taking its time, though it would be for a full takeover. At the moment these are ONLY discussions and could wind up meaning absolutely nothing but the talks do seem to be in talks.

Opinion: This would be the story of the year so far and it would change quite a few things about the wrestling business. Above all else, this could be a very big boom to ROH. The last several months have been pretty dull stuff and if this means WWE sends some talent down there for a change of pace, so be it. It’s not like ROH is the hot wrestling place anymore so maybe this could be good for them.

Would this be a good thing? Could you see ROH becoming another developmental territory? Let us know in the comments below.
