It never goes easily. Last month, WWE changed wrestling history by announcing that a women’s match would main event WrestleMania 35. This was nearly unthinkable just a few years before and now it’s actually happened. The show is over and the match has taken place, but it wasn’t without controversy, as things didn’t go exactly as they were originally planned.
According to Brad Shepard, the finish of the main event, which saw Becky Lynch pin Ronda Rousey with a crucifix, was indeed botched as Rousey’s shoulders came off the mat as the referee counted to three. It isn’t clear how the original finish was supposed to go, but there is no indication that anyone but Lynch was the planned winner. Rousey was said to not be happy after the show. There is no word on if this will affect her rumored departure from the company.

Maybe something like this had to do with the botched finish. Check out the rather hard hitting main event:
Opinion: While I can’t be sure, it’s hard to imagine that Lynch wasn’t going to win the match. It’s hard to imagine that the referee wasn’t told the winner of the main event of WrestleMania and since no one came out to change things, it’s unlikely that things were that much different. Now it could be interesting to see where things go, as there was certainly a controversial finish and that makes things more fun going forward.
How do you think the match was going to end? Will this taint Lynch’s win? Let us now in the comments below.
