Someone’s going to retirement. While a lot of wrestlers stick around the WWE for a long time, there’s a very small group of wrestlers who wind up sticking around for twenty years. That’s the case for a few names including the Undertaker and Kane, but there’s another big name who has broken the twenty year mark as well but now seems to be heading on to less canvas filled pastures.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, Mark Henry has retired with no fanfare from WWE. Henry has not competed since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”. He is scheduled for a non-wrestling appearance at an upcoming Northeast Wrestling event but at the moment is not taking wrestling bookings outside of WWE.

Here’s one of Henry’s biggest impacts.

Big Show and Mark Henry obliterate the ring: World Heavyweight Championship - WWE Vengeance 2011

Opinion: For a wrestler who was somewhat one dimensional for most of his career, Henry stuck around for a crazy amount of time. Aside from Sexual Chocolate, Henry’s gimmick rarely deviated from “he’s really strong” and that somehow worked from 1996 until 2017. That’s a remarkable career for someone considered to be not the most talented guy in the world by a number of fans. The Hall of Pain deal was great and he more than deserved his World Title reign as a result.

What did you think of Henry’s career? Should he have kept going? Let us know in the comments below.
