He needs someone new. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for over three years now, including one of the longest title reigns in the company’s history. At over three years as Universal Champion, Reigns is running out of challengers and needs someone fresh to step up. That might be the case in the near future, and it could be someone with quite the bit of momentum.

According to Sports Illustrated, there are plans for Reigns to feud with CM Punk at some point down the line, though it is not clear if Reigns will still be champion when the feud happens. Punk is expected to feud with Seth Rollins first, as Rollins has spoken about Punk since his return. The two have met before, with their lone singles match taking place on January 6, 2014 when Reigns defeated Punk.
There is something to this. Check out the two of them in action, both together and apart:
Opinion: This is one of those feuds that didn’t quite happen in full when Punk was around the first time as Reigns was still part of the Shield. Things have changed quite a bit now though and we could be in for a heck of a showdown if everything goes right. Punk vs. Reigns is a feud that could make for some very interesting situations and hopefully we get there, just for the Paul Heyman interactions if nothing else.
