Not a single one? Roman Reigns is one of the most controversial wrestlers in recent memory. Whether they love him or they hate him, almost everyone has some kind of an opinion on Reigns, who might be about to headline his third Wrestlemania in a row. Despite the vocal outrage against him, Reigns made an interesting statement in a recent interview.
Reigns appeared on “Boomer & Carton” to discuss a variety of topics, including getting booed by fans (transcription courtesy of wrestlinginc.com):
And on meeting “haters” in real life.
“It’s all love. I’ve never met a hater in real life. Everybody is nothing but kind. They want to take pictures, they want an autograph, everyone is great in real life. It’s just whatever it may be, if they love to hate me, if it’s the cool thing, but the cool thing about us is we’re a family show at it gives us a wide range of different people. We have grown men, we have young men, we have grown women, we have young women, we have kids.”
Opinion: Reigns is such an interesting case because there’s almost no way you can blame all of his problems on him. Over the last few years, Reigns has gone through some of the most ridiculous booking I’ve ever seen and you can’t blame him for that. I get sick of the way Reigns is pushed a lot of the time but there’s a difference between the person and the way he’s booked, just like there was with John Cena. Reigns is a talented guy and when you just let him do his thing, it’s worth watching almost every time.
