Booyaka booyaka. It’s not a stretch to say that Rey Mysterio is one of if not the most successful Latino wrestlers in American history. He’s been a multiple time WWE World Champion and has headlined several pay per views. Now that his Lucha Underground contract is about to expire, the question is where he might go next.

Rey Mysterio makes his WWE debut against Chavo Guerrero: SmackDown, July 25, 2002

According to SI.com, Mysterio is currently in negotiations with both Global Force Wrestling and WWE. While neither company seems to be in the lead at this point, both are in need of a major Latino star as WWE doesn’t really have one and GFW wants to get away from Alberto El Patron. Mysterio’s contract expires in September and he would have a 90 day no compete clause after it ends, making him available in December.

Opinion: Mysterio is 42 years old but still wrestles at a high enough level to easily perform for either company. This would likely be one of his last runs with a major American promotion and it should be interesting to see where he goes as Lucha Underground doesn’t seem to have much of a future.

Which promotion would you prefer Mysterio sign with? Who do you want him to sign with? Let us know in the comments below.
