Someone has to do it. We’re about two weeks away from Evolution, which should be a special show. One of the major draws for the show is going to be every current Women’s Title in WWE at any level being defended. That includes the newly crowned NXT UK Women’s Title, whose inaugural title win hasn’t actually taken place on TV yet. Without that having been seen yet, we might already have a new #1 contender.
According to the Mirror, NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Isla Dawn had an altercation, which looked to set up a title match. While not confirmed, there is a good chance that it will be taking place at Evolution. Dawn made an appearance in this year’s Mae Young Classic Tournament, losing in the first round to Nicole Matthews. Ripley won the title at the first NXT UK television taping, which will be airing in the coming weeks on the WWE Network.
She’s going to be a bigger deal in the future.
Opinion: I mean, someone has to get the title shot here and there’s nothing wrong with it being Dawn. She’s someone the fans might be a little familiar with due to her appearance in the Mae Young Classic and it’s not like the title match is going to be anything more than a showcase for Ripley anyway. That being said, the match has the potential to be entertaining and if they can pull that off, good for them.
