Paige Discusses Why She was Suspended From WWE

Just in case you were wondering. One of the biggest topics of the second half of last year was Paige’s issues with the Wellness Policy. While her suspensions have since ended and she’s now just away with neck surgery, she has now brought the subject back up again, albeit in something that was taped six months ago.

This week on “Total Divas”, the show discussed Paige’s suspension. According to Paige on the show, she does NOT do drugs and was suspended for not being around to take the test at the scheduled time. She later took and passed the test but was suspended anyway. Here’s what Paige said on the show:

“WWE posted a statement about me failing the wellness policy. We get drug tested all the time. First of all, I don’t do drugs. Second of all, I did the test and I passed it. They’re only suspending me because I didn’t take it in the allotted time that they gave me.”

WWE later released a statement saying that the suspension was due to an illegal substance instead of a prescription drug, which goes against what Paige’s statements.

Opinion: I don’t know if Paige took an illegal drug or not but it’s clear that she was doing a few things that didn’t make WWE happy. Maybe she was trying to get out of WWE or maybe she just went nuts as part of being a well paid celebrity in her early 20s. Either way, her going away for a good while was probably best for her.
